Get ready for a night of big laughs with Julian Gonzalez, better known as El Gordo Mamon, a Mexican-American stand-up comedian and content creator who has built a following with his relatable, unfiltered comedy in both English and Spanish.

Born in San Jose and raised in Salinas, California, Julian discovered early that making people laugh came naturally. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army, serving for three years—including a tour in Iraq—where humor became one of the ways he connected with and entertained his fellow soldiers.

After returning home, Julian eventually took his comedy online, writing, producing and editing original sketches inspired by family, culture and everyday life. His videos attracted hundreds of thousands of views and helped turn El Gordo Mamon into a recognizable comedy personality before he made the leap into full-time stand-up.

Today, Julian brings that same personality to live audiences, headlining comedy shows and appearing at venues including the San Jose Improv. His comedy mixes personal storytelling, cultural observations and the kind of things you’re probably not supposed to say in front of your family—which is precisely why they’re funny.

Catch Julian Gonzalez live at Spotlight 29 Casino on November 27 for a night of unapologetic stand-up and big laughs.
